Configuring PPPoE on the Linksys WRT54G
Note: If you have a different router, please check the manufacturer’s web site for instructions on setting up PPPoE on their device.
To access the Web-based Utility, launch Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, and enter the Router’s default IP address, 192.168.1.1, in the Address field. Then press Enter.
A password request page, shown below, pops up. (Non-Windows XP users will see a similar screen.) Leave the User Name field blank. Use the default password admin. If you have changed the password previously, use the new password. This is NOT the username and password provided to you in the email or letter.
The first screen that appears displays the Setup tab:
Choose PPPoE for the Internet Connection Type from the drop-down menu. The following options will become available:
Enter the User Name and Password provided in the email or letter.
Click the Save Settings button and close the web browser. |
