Web Mail Issues
WebMail gives you access to your email from anywhere in the world. All you need is an Internet connection and a web browser, for example (Internet Explorer, Netscape or Mozilla Foxfire). Go to www.intrstar.net and click on Email Login on the right side of the screen, or go directly to the webmail URL at https://vmx.intrstar.net/webmail/Login.aspx.
Once you get to our webmail site, simply enter your email address on the first line, password on the next line click logon to view your email through our web based mail program.
RESTRICTIONS & LIMITATIONS;
- When accessing your email box if you have more than one way you check mail be sure you are only logged into one at a time. If not you could get an error message that user name and or password is incorrect. Please make sure your email client program (Outlook Express; Outlook; Eudora; Netscape; etc.) is not open while attempting to log on to webmail you will get that same error.
- Two users cannot access the same email box at the same time. In these cases, an error will occur when you log into WebMail.
- IMPORTANT: InterStar only saves email on the mail server for 180 days. Your mail could be deleted/purged after this time. WebMail is not intended to replace your email client software and should not be used to store any email you wish to keep. Please make sure you deliver (download) your mail to your computers email program, Outlook, Windows mail or any mail client you choose to use for permanent storage. Please do not rely on WebMail as a permanent storage method for your important emails. InterStar is not responsible for any information stored using WebMail: (email, folders, contacts).
- WebMail may not function properly if you have a Pop-Up blocking software loaded. You might need to disable the pop-up blocking software while using WebMail.

Organizing various features
Compose, send, reply, forward, and delete/purge
Read mail - click once on the email that email will open, to return to the inbox just click on the Inbox to the left.
Forward or reply – Click once to open then click (Forward) or (Reply). If you choose reply the senders address will appear if you choose forward you will need to type in the address you want to forward the email to then click send.
Compose – Used to create a new email
Quarantine:
View and Release any messages that InterStar’s junk mail prevention filters may have stopped. After 12 hours in Quarantine, these messages are deleted.
InterStar’s anti-spam protection will “trap” messages that meet spam or virus definitions. You can release wanted mail by putting a checkmark next to the message and selecting release: Open the message and WHITELIST a specific address; Viruses cannot be released; Quarantined messages clear in 3 days.

Contacts:
Add your personal address book for use in the webmail compose feature.
Rules:
Set additional filter rules to block email that is not filtered by InterStar.
Settings: for password change or set forwards.
Note: To change passwords or set up a forward you need to login to your Internet account at https://billing.intrstar.net/info/customerinfo.cfm
Logoff
Use this to end your WebMail session and return to your browser screen.
Additional “Web Mail How To’s”
Delete & Purge Email
Place a checkmark ( ) next to the mail you wish to delete.
Select delete/undelete.
Select Purge Deleted Messages
Mail can be undeleted and will remain in your box until it is “purged”. If you want to permanently remove the email, select purge after deleting (above). If you have a lot of pages of email you might need to try deleting and purging one page at a time.
Support Note: Pop-Up Blocker software will interfere with the use of WebMail. If the Compose features, does not open, this is most likely because you have a pop-up blocker enabled.
We recommend you leave a copy of the message at the “post office” if you are ( Traveling) you can then ( Download a copy ) of it when you return to work or home if you need a ( Permanent Record.) |
